Review of Junior's Irish Cream Cheesecake

[USA]

Pic available here from u/cveyes!

When I saw this I really couldn't resist! I've never had a Junior's cheesecake before so if you haven't either - the texture is on the drier side (New York style) with a chocolate sponge "crust." I think I would have liked the textural difference the graham crackers provides.

But the real thing is the taste, right? When I opened the box I got a big waft of a maple aroma. And that smell stayed with me throughout eating. I don't think this tastes strongly - or even mildly - of Irish Cream. It wasn't unpleasant. It was yummy even. But it wasn't the Irish Cream flavor I was excited about.

u/cveyes above mentions a ribbon of chocolate throughout. I have to disagree. I don't think it's chocolate. It almost seems to be a jelly of some kind, jellied Irish Cream flavor? That ended up emphasizing for me that I really wished for a different texture.

My husband disagreed and thought it had a nice, light IC flavor. But neither of us were excited and this cake will probably go unfinished.
