Do you guys think we should try and tally all the shares we own?

It's been postulated by several users that retail owns all of the float. I've long been against posting positions because I felt like it helps the hedgies, but I think it's gotten to the point where the equation has flipped the other way, and now it helps us more than It helps them to try and figure this out. Because I feel like we're drastically underestimating ourselves. When people say 500k is not a meme, if we truly own all the float (or honestly could be even 2-3x more and I wouldn't even be surprised) that phrase in itself is NOT A FUCKING MEME.

The Institutions could dump their entire load of shares and STILL not make a crippling dent in the FTDs or shares borrowed if that's the case. I know there's some sites that have been keeping track, and I'm.sure there's some smart apes that could trawl thru. But is this something that can be coordinated with the mods just so we can actually see how much power we have? It'll help a lot more people come to our cause if we say "500k is not a meme and here's why" and just link to the official tally and and projected holdings around the world

Lemme know what y'all think. I've been against broadcasting my position forever but now I can confidently say that between myself and u/DeepFuckingValue we own 100,445 shares combined.

Maybe some of the mods can chime in u/rensole u/YourNameIsC00L

I used to feel the same way you do but if we have solid evidence that we own all the float then it's gonna be very easy to convince paperhands to hold for 500k

You can’t convince paper-hands to do anything. They either read the DD and understand what is at stake, or they didn’t and are perfectly satisfied with the measly gains they will acquire. I’ve seen so many people who joined only for the hype without doing any shred of research, and I only assume they will all paper hand. RIP 🪦.

Edit: scenario 3 is they sell at a loss during an attack.

You can convince the people that are in the middle and down to hold to 5 digits tho. Paperhands are gonna paperhand but we're talking about human psychology over a bell curve distribution. The more you can shift the median point over the higher the peak can go. And at this point I think a concerted job that confirms millions of shares being held by apes will only help the cause. Right now the only info we have is that bullshit Bloomberg terminal screen grab that said retail.has 7.5% ownership

This seems like a pretty horrible idea.

Maybe I would need to know something like that if it was going to affect my strategy.

But my strategy is to hold so what do I care?

Completely disagree with your take. The strategy of the diamond hands don't matter were all gonna hold. But the people that truly think we're insane for trying to hold past a couple Gs because they have no confidence in retail being able to affect the price once the institutions have had their way are the target audience I'm looking to reach here.

If were able to successfully demonstrate that tens of millions of shares are being locked up by diamond hands, that's potentially millions of shares held by people on the fence that could be memed into holding to 500k. Because no matter what you think, the more potential early bailers that can be convinced to hold on the better it is for everyone.

I see both sides of this and have been firmly on the side of ghostclown on this. I have been unmerciful in attacking people posting the polls and group letters.

I am starting to see the other side of it though, after considering that retail may own a huge % of the float if not all of it.

If that could be verified and proven the shitstorm that followed would be epic. And I like the thought of that. Share price going to the moon and Citadel/Melvin and the other creators of counterfeit shares being perp walked to a jail cell.

I would be for it if it could be done in a way that was verified and accurate.

This would be in the grey zone of legality for sure. Whether it should or shouldnt be, thats a whole other conversation. If the DD is close to accurate, we dont need to give anyone an excuse that we are a collecrive of investors working together to manipulate the market. We are individual investors making individual decisions.

Just my uneducated opinion, also i spend most of my free time browseing crayon recipes.

I don't think it's really in the grey zone, Bloomberg terminals literally report % float held by retail, this would be a decentralized retail version of the self reported FINRA report. Nothing even remotely illegal about that to me.

This isn't about manipulating the market it's about tallying data, and If that data happens to convince someone with 10 shares or so to hold till 500k instead of bailing at 5k then that's cool but that's on them.

This sounds like an incredibly bad idea. This is not a coordinated effort; there is no we. No one needs to know how many shares anyone else holds. Keep private information private and let’s continue to come together in the fact that we all like the stock.
