Best faction wars item?
I’ve been saving up rubies (roughly 4K). Is it better to get items or characters? I was think getting the ball and chain as that looks the least situational.

Bloody Voodoo doll is the best situational wise for all modes in most cases if you want to use SP1, Followed by Blaze's Life Force, Shang Tsung Stone, Shadow Sash, Bloody Shokan Armor, Devastator, Sindel's Signet Ring, and lastly Moroi (whatever the rest of that gear name is) in that order.
That being said though Moroi DO have a slight few edge cases when it can be warranted for usage such as that round 2 LKT tower with the revives, and the NMT if that comes back with its reviving match conditions in regular matches up the tower (and is one of the few gears that straight up boost SP damage that is not an event tower gear with the other being Devastator which only focus's on increasing SP1 damage)
Still...ita base upgrade fusion does not warrant it being upgraded AT all EVEN with the rampant revives in faction wars as while its now usable if an enemy gets revenant..its NOT overall that useful for that.

If you're a starter don't go for bvd.i wasted 2800 souls ,it is at f6 and hardly use it. While sould exilir at fx gives 15% reduced power cost for all attacks and voodoo doll is giving only 8%. It is better to get klassic scorpion if you're a beginner at F2 or f3 he is way more usefull and you can chain his sp1 using dragon essence or soul exilir or other uncommon power generating items

I must disagree with you. You want BVD because of those 25% power regeneration at FX, the power cost reduction is just an extra. It has universal use in FW, towers and challenges. (Basically, more power gen. -> frequent use of SPs -> more dmg output)That is why you want to focus on one equipment at a time and try to fuse it to FX.IMO the order would be: BVD, Devastator/Tomahawk, Sindel's Signet Ring/Shadow Sash/BLF/STS (depends on what you need and which chars you use the most) and then maybe Moloch's Ball and Chain. The other equip is not so useful. After that you can focus on Scorpion.
Edit: You can consider buying one card of Klassic Ermac and/or Klassic Scorp for boss fights, though I never did it and don't have any problems without them.

It’s good at fusion 10 because 25% power generation is amazing. Also, bloody voodoo doll at fusion 0 gives 10% reduced power on special attacks and 5% damage. At fusion 6 it could have 13% reduced power on special attacks and 8% damage.
Basically at fusion 10 it becomes a combination of dragon essence (power gem and damage) and souls elixir (reduced power on specials). It would give more power gen than dragon essence (25% instead of 15%) and more damage (10% instead of 8%)

Either Bloody Voodoo doll or Shang Tsung’s stone IMO. Your blood rubies IMO are better spent on the gears. These Faction War gears in the store are op and will help you a lot. Don’t get me wrong the characters in the store are good( not Klassic SubZero’s weak pathetic ass) but still it takes up so much time maxing them out.
