Repeated.

Every human has cried
Some have cried streams
And some have cried storms
Arguments and tragedy
We empty our hearts
Our minds
Into the world
Recycling united thoughts

Tears form in the eyes
Trickle-down the face
And cheeks
Dripping to the hollow earth
But never stay in the ground
They take shape in the air

Clouds are formed by the wetness
They grow just enough
To pelt the soul with burning acid
Some droughts are bypassed
Some flood gates are opened

The weight is held
Constant
Or fleeting
They disappear with a change
The big or small differences
You will notice

When your body feels less pain
Less burning
Only then
Will the sun ever be seen
Over and over.

I wish to stay
In the light.

Repeated.

After scanning this poem I believe it could use a much stronger title. This title doesn’t reinforce the meaning or connect with the imagery or offer a clue to unlock or unpack the piece.

Every human has cried
Some have cried streams
And some have cried storms
Arguments and tragedy
We empty our hearts
Our minds
Into the world
Recycling united thoughts

The line breaks do not work for me. There isn’t a shift in sense nor are there breaks used to show a cesura, a pause. Line breaks can be tough to handle and I believe this poem could use them more effectively or eliminate them all together since nothing would be lost.

Tears form in the eyes
Trickle-down the face
And cheeks
Dripping to the hollow earth
But never stay in the ground
They take shape in the air

In 2011 Rebecca Black released the now infamous Friday song. I remember that one point of contention was that she was explaining the days of the week to the audience who all know very well the days of the week. Here where the line informs the reader where tears come from made me wince. I do think this is a place to improve the poem. Perhaps an abstract concept could replace the concrete tear.

Agree with the commenter that this could use a stronger title. However, I like the premise quite a bit. I liked the closure upon completion, although it took me awhile to get there logically; are we to say that crying/sorrow creates an inevitable loop of clouds and rain? And the sun will only come out when we feel better? I don't fully get the impact of this, and found the last two lines unnecessary.

Strong work though, keep it up.

I love the descriptions in this poem. I really enjoyed this because it reminded me how we are all connected and have experienced these raw and beautiful human emotions, and how even in sorrow we are not truly alone. The way you related tears/natural human feelings to the natural occurences of nature was really beautiful. Thank you for sharing keep writing!!

i liked reading this, 4/5 stanzas have at least one word that entice imagery that relates back to the title of your poem , (1) recycling (2)trickle-down (3) constant (4) over and over , I also liked the instant contrast of the stream and storm and the start of the poem that added stress to each line from there on. great work , keep it up
