Most of these posts go unnoticed but honestly I love the simplicity of it and it works in it's favor as sometimes repeating phrases can get dull but you made it work also what recording software do you use?

Thank you! Means a lot to me.

This is all done in Ableton - lots of granular FX for the ambience, plus some plate reverb and space echo. The theme of the album is creating these unusual spaces so there's a lot of that reverb manipulation going on.

That's really good, and exactly as you describe. The description is what got me, as a huge Nils Frahm fan, to listen to it, and I wasn't disappointed. I'm gonna give the whole album a listen now.

Thanks! Glad I managed to accurately verbalise the sound...

Cool I really want to get Ableton but I could only afford Logic Pro X still works really well and I could probably achieve the same reverb effects you use.

Definitely - none of this is reliant on Ableton, most of it is third party VSTs, plus a bit of an obsession with detail!

I can see the attention to detail I also really liked the sound design at the end of the song at first I was like dam did he mess up with his mix and then slowly realized it was intentional. I also liked the real subtle but warm synth pads in the back.

Yep, definitely a fine line to walk making it sound intentionally messy rather than just messy..

P.S. In case anyone is interested, the full album is up on Bandcamp and streaming platforms.
