Rate my deck - $100 Sharkboy Voltron

Hey all,

Long time stalker, first time poster.

I was inspired to brew a [[Shabraz, The Skyshark]] and & [[Brallin, Skyshark Rider]] deck after listening to PJ's Commander Replay Podcast about Voltron the other day. I love building on a budget so it forces you away from the more expensive staples, looking at you Smothering Tithe, Rhystic Study & Cyclonic Rift 😣

I have made a small primer within the link so I won't repeat too much here.

I test my decks on MTGO, so if any like minded people want to play hit me up.

[[Kediss]] sounds like something you really want since you have two commanders that can get big and hurt people.

Not sure what the plan with [[Fall of the Thran]] is. Six mana piss off the table, have someone remove my commander in response and then sit there like a lame duck and lose?

Thanks for the feedback. I really like Kediss in the deck, I'll have to try him out.

Meta dependant. My group don't mind MLD, it's part of the game. With all the green decks & landfall decks out there, slowing them down isn't so bad.

My point wasn’t that MLD in general is a problem, what I didn’t quite see was how this deck would benefit. You don’t have a Teferi’s Protection or similar to save your own lands. You don’t have ways other than Sun Titan to get back the lands you blew up, like a Crucible of Worlds. Yes you set everyone back to zero, but the ramp decks will just get ahead again from there.

It just feels like maybe a [[Price of Progress]] or a [[Mana Barbs]] or an [[Ankh of Mishra]] is more useful to your game plan overall while still punishing the greedy ramp decks.

I will continue to test the deck. I do agree there aren't any synergies with the primary strategy.
