Ordering a new ID displaying the correct address isn't relevant, thankfully.

The only thing that matters is what DOL has on file electronically and that it matches your ESD address and not necessarily what's displayed on the ID.

As far as documents go, the only thing you should send in IF you get an ID review is exactly what they ask for, committing or even adding extra documents can delay the process.

I changed my address fully online 5 months ago and it never flagged the system. I did some research beforehand and personally believed I've figured out a method to not get placed in ID verification.

Firstly, Update your address information with WA DOL. You can do this online at the DOL website with just your ID information. This is the important part of the step that people miss, and a mismatch with ESD is what can cause the ID verification.

Make sure you wait 24 to 36 hours after changing this information before doing anything with ESD just to make sure it's updated and reflected in DOL.

Then and only then should you change your address with WA State ESD via the webtop, your address on file with ESD once changed will now match the new address in DOL and you shouldn't have to worry about identity issues.

Obviously I can't be a 1000% sure on all situations, but it seems to work just fine.

I am signing a lease on a new home today and I have read on here sporadically from comments stating that when changing addresses it flags my account for identity verification. I am hoping to have a job by the end of April. (I'm in the interview and background check process) .  So my question is this. 

Do I need to change my address with ESD? If you think I should, will I be flagged and delayed on benefits?  If I am going to be delayed, is there an easy way to prevent being flagged for identity verification or something I can do preemptively to speed up the process so I am not without benefits for long.   Full disclosure,  I did try to look in the archive for this answer... I am just not always really good at finding the answers I need.   Any help is appreciated!
