New system is called DJI FPV V2...
So yes, the DJI FPV system is not produced any longer. But the DJI FPV V2 system is.

So do you think they are focusing on improving their own Fpv quad rather than encouraging people to build their own OR air unit 2 is coming ?

Not an expert, but I think they discontinued the Digital FPV System so that people buy the fpv drone instead. I literally bought the DJi digital system last week, I went to the DJI store just now, to check on the FPV Goggles V2, only thing missing cause they are out of stock, and I was greeted with that massage. My only worry is availability in the future, if I break a component, will I be able to find it online?

DJI knows the market well enough to know that their FPV drone doesn't compete with the hobby/custom FPV market.
I think the more likely explanation is that they can't get materials for the air units and they're directing their resources to their more profitable product sectors.

I just had a look and I was able to add the FPV to my cart on the UK website

He is talking about the air unit. They seem to have discontinued the air unit so people buy the drone instead. Smh

From Canada and I can add the air unit to my cart, no message saying anything was out of production.
Edit: when viewing the general info page for the FPV system I do see this message. Big news if true..
Edit2: I forgot about the caddx unit so it's not like digital FPV is dead. What kind of communication does the air unit do with the headset? Could a headset software update theoretically brick the caddx?

I can still add the components individually because they are still available, but if it's out of production I doubt I will be able to buy it in the future

Well maybe because it allows you to build an fpv drone and actually have decent image quality. This post is not talking about their new fpv Drone, it's about the Digital system

About discontinuing the DJi FPV System? Check the website, and check it. You can still buy the components individually, but when you go to the digital FPV system page, the screenshot is what shows up

If I bought the v2 goggles and the DJI controller that is included with the DJI FPV could I pair them with a non DJI drone that uses the caadx or would I need to wait for a new air unit/caddx update for the new controller?

This is incorrect speculation. The "system" is their whole package (goggles, remote, air unit, camera). The package is no longer available. This doesn't mean the air unit is no longer available.

The package included the v1 goggles, so is no longer available since those are out of production.

Oh thats a good point. Im still wondering when/if theyll come out with v2 for the digital fpv system.
Perhaps V2 tech is already in their FPV Drone. That's what I would do - they probably make more margin on the FPV Drone than the individual components, so it would make sense for them to make it a flagship. It'll be interesting to hear the reviews of the drone and how the FPV system compares to our air units.
Apparently the picture in the goggles does look a bit better from the fpv drone compared to the system. I would just wish the controller v2 would work with the system. I have the fpv drone but want to get a normal quad too but now i have to buy the controller v1 for 320€.
That link for the air unit goes to a page that says it is no longer available in my country (US). Hopefully temporary??
