Delivery date disappears in Texas

Hello everyone! Just wanted to see if anyone was in the same boat as I am in. Here is my ordering process so far.

  • ordered MSM LR white interior on 2/28 with loan option from Alliant (in texas)

  • uploaded trade in information on 3/3. Tesla accepted my trade in and gave me an offer. Had delivery date of March 23-31st.

  • then no information for the past 3 weeks. Delivery date keeps shrinking by a day. Then delivery date totally disappeared on 3/17. It has been blank since then.

  • I have tried to maintain contact with my SA throughout this process, but they hardly respond to emails or calls. The only communication I have had is an email saying that I should have my car by the end of this month and my VIN should have been issued last week.

  • still no VIN as of today and no information on the loan from Alliant. I have great credit, no debt, etc.. so I don’t know what is taking so long for loan approval. I am thinking about going to a local credit union instead, they told me they would approve me the same day. But can I get a loan without a VIN? Want to make sure I have everything lined up if I get my vin. I have insurance lined up as well.

  • sorry for all of the information, just wanted to see if anyone has a similar experience. I am trying adjust my expectations and to see if if I should be expecting a car at the end of this month or if it will get booted into the second quarter deliveries.

looks like texas finally seceded, so they have to renegotiate the trading agreements with the US. Don't worry, it'll take 3 months maybe 6 months definitely.

Ordered my M3 performance on 3/19 and got approved by the lender (US Bank) on 3/20. On the website, it shows the delivery date is between 1-13 weeks. I talk to my rep and he gave me a window of 8 weeks. Right now I'm waiting for my vin, it hasn't been long. But if I get any feedback, I'll let you know. Good luck!

Texas buyer here...took delivery of my model 3 about a week ago. The exact same thing happened to me very close to delivery. My estimated delivery date disappeared for about 48 hours and then reappeared with an even sooner date. Took delivery shortly after. Not sure why this happens but don’t worry. For my order it seemed to be a sign delivery was close. Congrats on the purchase!

Edit: also when my date finally reappeared, a VIN was also now showing on my account.

For what it's worth, you're probably effected by the massive shortage in automotive semiconductors, though it sounds like Tesla should be doing a much better job of communicating.
