Then hitting it to right field would be basically the worst thing you could do. I understand what you’re saying it but then anytime you hit the ball on the ground on the right side you’re out

Not true. A shallow hit to right can easily end up in an out...not 100% of the time but I’d like to see some effort. It’s happened a lot in the mlb, in college ball and further below. My main gripe is that the 1st baseman should be at 1st base. It’s stupid as shit he didn’t move an inch.

It happens just under once per MLB season. That's less than once every 2430 games. That's far from a lot.

It is very rare. Two years ago I threw someone out in a game from right, we are in a 45+ league, and everyone acted as if it was the second coming.

I have thrown one guy out from RF and it was Mike Trout. He hit the ball very hard and Walker nailed him. It wasn’t even close.

It won’t be resolved because it’s not an issue. If the first baseman always covered first in this instance, people would complain that it happens to often. If it happened more often in the MLB then maybe they’d consider changing it.

But that is what you are thought to do in actual baseball...someone hits the ball, you cover your base.

In the other dudes comment, it said that a 9-3 putout had only happened 29 between 1990 and that article being written. It doesn’t need to happen significantly more in the game. It’s fine as is

Okay. This is routine play. Not sure why I’m being downvoted because this literally happened in the bigs.
