Why no discussion of laracon online?

If you search the sub the last mention of laracon is from last year.

What’s the cause of this? 🤔

Honestly, maybe because it was a little disappointing.

The presenters were wonderful of course, but most of the topics were a deep dive into the framework itself. It makes sense, naturally. But having attended in-person in 2016 and virtually every year since, it's never really been this one-note before.

It was probably good if you make laravel packages, but I'm not sure the average user had much use for it, which would then reflect into the subreddit's lack of discussion.

But since I'm not a total grinch: Taylor's talk had some great stuff, and I really enjoyed the "small things" Livewire presentation. There was a Livewire presentation last year that I don't remember taking away any excitement from, but this time it really made me want to use it.

I wonder if the Taylor and Limewire talk are publicly available. I’d like to watch that.

[UPDATE: Never mind. I see it’s $30 to watch. Surprised there were that few of talks.]

If there's one talk that should be publicly available it's Taylor's as it's akin to a State of the Union for Laravel.

I totally agree. Is Laravel becoming more insular? In the early years it was the enthusiasm of a new framework welcoming everyone in. I’m not a developer, just a designer who dabbles. But I’ve followed Laravel from day one.

There wasn't even a peep about it on Larachat Slack. I attended and some of the talks were pretty good, but I can't wait for the in-person conferences again.

Usually Laracon aligns with a major version release.

Laracon Online is a yearly thing that existed before covid.

It was last Wednesday

It was a paid conference and the stuff that was made public doesn't make mush sense without more context.

Sure I’m just saying this posters point is kind of invalid because the conference has already come and gone. Does make OPs point more valid that said poster did not know that
