The First Reddit Challenge Series is underway. Lets get out and skate with common goals.
Over the next seven days, you all have three goals. These were determined, as the will be in the future, by the top suggestions in the Voting Thread.

- Ride switch for at least a day.

- Work on your early grab. Can't do one? Learn. Can do one already? Go higher.

- Give one or more of your longboards a complete tune-up. Make it look as clean and nice as possible as well as working to the best of it's ability. Take photos.
Don your helmet, grab the portable floor of your choice, and go enjoy pushing yourself and your gear past what you've ever done before.
Housekeeping:
Since this is the first Reddit Challenge Series, we have some issues to sort out.
First of which, where do we want people posting questions, success stories, and other related content? I would like people to lean towards posting bigger things like photographs and important tips directly to r/longboarding as a new link. The smaller stuff like idle discussions, tips, and encouragement might want to be posted in this thread. The entire point of this challenge series is to bring the community together and make it more active, and I'm hoping that [RCS] will stimulate more interesting links to get to the front page.
Second of all, when should the next [RCS] be? My current plan is to try a monthly schedule. I'm looking for suggestions on dates and lengths of the voting and event periods. Right now I'm thinking about a 2-3 day voting period and a 7 day event period with it all starting on the first Friday of each month. That puts both parts over a weekend.
Perhaps we could have themed weeks as well, throw some suggestions in the comments!
Next, sky_kid has offered to supply t-shirts as prizes for a bi-monthly (at most) Reddit Longboarding Video Contest. I'll start preparing to put a system together, if you want to donate or fund prizes, let me know.
Finally, hugobot has kindly offered to put these threads in the sidebar. Thanks!
