Vaccine Dilemma with Roommate/Friend

Support

My friend and I are college students and were planning on renting an apartment together at the beginning of the summer under the assumption that both of us will be fully vaccinated.

Or so I thought.

Upon talking to them last night they told me that they hadnt made their appointment yet but it doesn’t matter because I am fully vaccinated already. They said they needed to do more research. I then told Them that I would feel more comfortable if they were fully vaccinated by the time we plan to move in together. I sent them CDC information on the vaccine. Now it would be one thing if they followed covid guidelines but they are constantly at gatherings and hanging out with people who are also not vaccinated and not covid conscious in general.

After this conversation they proceeded to tell me that I’m trying to control them. They also said they never said they werent getting the vaccine but also didnt say they were either. They then proceeded to say that they were torn because MRNA vaccines are new and apparently they believe MRna is how manmade vegetables were created...okay.

I’ve been in the house for a year. I live with high risk parents and I’m happy with the fact that they are vaccinated. At the same time the vaccine is not a cure. I even gave my friend more time to think about the vaccine and said we could push the move in date out if they needed more time. Am I being unreasonable?
