What they earned were the points from Masters 1, there's no need for any more advantage. If anything these upsets prove that everyone should be in open quals since the game is changing so quickly

Totally agree. And if they are good(which I think they are) then they should qualify through challengers 2. Masters 1 might be the only regional masters and with limited spots in masters 2 the points have more value than getting a pass from quals

The game hasn't changed at all since Masters to now (except for the addition of Astra, which wasn't used in any of the upset games).

They had nearly 2 weeks to prepare and even though it's the same patch, you can use Astra now so it's not the exact same. It's funny how 7/8 of the teams from EU managed to qualify for challengers 2 even though the EU qualifiers started a few days before NA. Stage 2 is called stage 2 for a reason, it's a different stage and shouldn't be affected by results from stage 1

Since a lot of times Twitch clips get taken out of context, just want to provide some here.

Context:

These teams like BBG, V1, have spent months watching VODs on these top teams and preparing for matches against them. Two weeks after Masters SEN and FaZe have to compete against them without being able to prep against them (no VODs).

These are good teams, BBG and V1 are salaried players with good players, and they know how to prep. The argument for top teams from Masters into the Closed Qualifier is to give them time to prep against these teams that make it, just like the teams got to prep against them.

His point about talking about "the same patch" was that the game hasn't changed since Masters 1. You can call it "Stage 1" and "Stage 2" but it's the same game, nothing changed. And you can't reinvent yourself in two weeks. That, combined with Sentinels just having a bad game (all of them not hitting shots they'd normally hit, and just not playing together like that always do).

Also his Jett cosplay was for a sub goal, just FYI.
