Duo use overseas?
Good evening all,
I was writing to clarify the Surface Duos international connectivity capabilities. I'm active duty and will be on temporary assignment in Europe for 3 weeks and was wondering if I'd be able to just go ahead and use my Surface Duo while I'm over there (of course with the appropriate international plan) or will I have to just get a temporary device to pop my sim card into for the duration of my trip? Thanks in advance!

If you buy the unlocked version
And the LTE bands the international carrier uses are supported by the Duo, then you should be able to.
..
If you have a carrier locked version, you usually only need to add and activate/turn on the International roaming option for your plan. (Costs vary and can be expensive.) Contact the carrier.
If you bought a carrier locked version and have paid off the device, you can usually contact your carrier to have the phone unlocked. Then you can either roam on your carrier with international roaming added and active on your current plan, or use a sim card with active plan on a eu carrier bought when you arrive in the EU.
If you use public wifi, you can do everything over just that.
Including phone calls/texts from/to usa phone numbers when using an active free Google Voice usa number and the app on your phone. (Calls over Google Voice over wifi to eu numbers need money added to the Voice account.)
