Can I get a speeding ticket without being pulled over?

Context is that I was driving home from work tonight (Easter Sunday). I was going 80mph in a 70 zone (in California that honestly doesn’t matter). I was in the far left lane and saw a car gaining on me on my right, and I thought he was going to be one of those annoying speeders who was gonna try and cut me off, (Ik stupid but still) so I sped up until we were keeping pace with each other at 90 mph. I look over to my right and see it’s an officer. He quickly shines a flashlight at me and I instantly slow down to about 75 and he just zooms past at the same speed with another highway patrol tailing him (turns out there was two). Should I be worried about that or did he just let me off with a warning?
