Idk if anyone actually has ever stumbled on this lady's profile but she is one of the most cringe ig accounts out there. Every video is nauseating

@michele.theposhpa
@michele.theposhpa
even her handle is cringey
Followed by @ankingmed 🧐🧐
NOOOO. Not the Anking! :(
So cringey!
Read AAPA’s leaked internal document advising all Physician Assistants to use the term “PA” instead of what the abbreviation stands for. They’re so insecure about the title of their profession and seek to dupe patients at every turn.
Holy shit that document actually claims PAs are not “non-physician providers”....then wtf are they if they are not physicians, but providing medical care?¡ Absolute clowns.
An AAPA Student Director took to national news in the early days of the pandemic to inform the public that that they prefer the term “PA only”
"PA only"
Great! "You're only a PA" will be the first words out of my mouth to the next PA I see.
How bout PA-thetic?
What the actual fuck ?
It litteraly means physician assistant. If patients ask them what does PA stand for, what will they say ?
physician’s assistant*
[deleted]
No, it’s not just PA. It’s Physician’s Assistant.
Sorry if that makes your insecurities bubble to the surface. Should’ve tried getting into med school....ah wait, too dumb for that.
Fragile ego....
Does PA not stand for physicians assistant?
Technically it’s physician assistant.
I’m sorry, I don’t listen to cunts
Pennsylvania?
Patients have no idea what a PA is, and crap like this is done to ensure the public stays in the dark. Hence, any other term that shows she is under the supervision of a physician she makes a grimace at.
My mom is someone who is not terribly health literate. She thought a PA who blamed her MS flare on asymptomatic bactiuria was a physician until I probed deeper. Make sure your family never sees a midlevel.
This is not surprising. Many of these Physician's Assistants and NPs are in reality wannabe doctors that did not/could not get into medical school. This is why they have such inferiority complex and get triggered when people remind them of basic facts, such as what their own job title stands for. What a miserable state of affairs these people are in. For the love of god, if you want to be a doctor so bad, just put in the effort and become one. People will always see you as just pretend doctors. So either accept your job title or do everything you can to get into medical school.
For real, like I know someone who didn't initially do the greatest in undergrad or the mcat, but she worked hard studying while being a full time scribe director, eventually managed to beef up her mcat score and get some nice letters and now is almost done with her 3rd year. She could've done what many do and just became a midlevels instead, but I think she knew that she would always feel inadequate. I think about her story and how many probably were like her but just took the path of least resistance when their scores weren't good enough, and now are bitter all the time.
Well done to your friend for rolling up her sleeves and getting the job done. I'll never understand why anyone would choose the easy path and become a downgraded version of something they want to be. They'll just become toxic human beings and spend the rest of their life full of inferiority complex and regret.
She makes the post appear as though we are the dumb ones for saying PA stands for Physician’s Assistant.
The delusion is real.
They get triggered over the apostrophe. Seriously. Because they think making it physician assistant will make it sound like they’re a physician who is an assistant, rather than an assistant to a physician. It’s all just more intentional line-blurring. Which is why I just call all of them non-physician providers (NPPs) at all times.
Tbh it’s a little Passive Aggressive
I get where she was going with this but this whole “just PA” campaign feels like an attempt to blur the lines. Yes, people in the health field know what a PA is, but the general public probably does not. It would be strange if introduced myself as “___ the MD”, no, I would say im your physician, why would it be different for NP/PA’s
It’s really, actually not just PA though..

What’s her tiktok handle? I want to see her get roasted in the comments section lol
I second this. I must know.
Michele the posh pa
The video is uber cringey. I think it was posted here a few weeks ago.
White coat cosplay
Love it when boomers try to pass themselves off as Gen Z!
Well at least she is not claiming that it stands for doctor, unlike some others 🙄
The bar is so low at this point.
Update: we’re digging a hole for the bar. It must descend further!
This lady is like 60 on tik tok, how bout you go take your kids to soccer practice or something
She looks like GOBLIN
Why this Triassic period relic embarrassing herself on social media like this? I suppose there's an audience for anything nowadays huh
Didn’t know Billy was a PA
This lady's IG is awful. Imagine thinking an acronym doesn't stand for anything.
but what does PA stand for? unless... is it actually pronounced "[PAH']"?
According to people in the comments of that post the issue is the apostrophe... I.e. they want to be called 'Physician Assistants' rather than 'Physician**'s** Assistants'.
I mean I really don't see what difference it makes tbh. And they are assistants to physicians, so the apostrophe makes sense to me.
Assistant TO the Regional Physician.
That’s Prison Mike to you.
Either way they are an assistant whether it has an apostrophe or not.
Yeah they think Physician Assistant = Assistant Physician and that Physician’s Assistant = Assistant to the Physician. I mean, they’re obviously assistants to the physicians but they don’t think so.
Imagine being this fragile and insecure in what you do that an apostrophe’s got you all strung out lol

Unfortunately, IIANM, the legislation in most PA states lists it without the apostrophe. Some (e.g., Michigan) might list it with the apostrophe (http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(nsfqhi4yjce43zvkeueratg4))/mileg.aspx?page=getObject&objectName=mcl-333-17008) but even their website sometimes drops the apostrophe.

If that were only true. Here is the position of their trade group:
https://www.aapa.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/How_to_Talk_about_PAs_FINAL_December_2018.pdf
And they want to change there name - they retained a PR from in 2019 for $1 million to start this multiphase process.
Or Pennsylvania.
WALL OF TEXT
Yes thank you! This was my argument exactly.
