I don't see it in that pic, but I always wanted to order the plans to build your own hovercraft out of a vacuum cleaner motor. I doubted it would work, and then I saw Mythbusters try it. It didn't work until they upgraded it a lot.
They did it as a science project when I was in junior high.
Did it work?
Yes! They cleared out the whole cafeteria for it.
That's awesome. I never knew anyone that ordered that. I knew some people that ordered the x-ray glasses. They all said they were a lame rip off.
i wasted so much money on this company it makes me sad ...just like each time i opened the box to sadly see what i was sent.
I wish there was a modern day catalog site for stuff like this.
Like the Internet?
Like a specific site that curated and aggregated all this crap together and sold it. Amazon likely has a lot of similar items, but the cost for single items, shipping included would be too large.
A ThinkGeek for silly stuff, if you will.
Maybe Archie McPhee's?
https://mcphee.com
Most fun if you can visit in person, though.
Maybe, thank you.
I eventually got the entire Johnson Smith company catalogue of all the epic pranks.
Spy radio. By a mile.
I remember getting a "Life-Sized Floating UFO" from the back of a Scout Life magazine as a kid. It was just a black trash bag on a string lol.
YES! Boys Life? (Edit: looks like the name changed to Scouts life a few years back...I’m old) I couldn’t remember where I had seen these ads as a kid but that would have been it
That was it! I had to Google it and I think you're right.
Karate's real!!
1950s Fitbit was just 1 dollar!

That was the one I always wanted, what did they actually do?
