Baguettes. Bakery. Cheese. Mimes. Garlic. Snails. Romance. Accordions. Curly moustaches.

Edit: I'm from the UK, I'm not sure if you were wanting the opinions more so from US residents since that you mentioned Europe too 😊

American View BEFORE knowing people from France: Always surrenders, white flags, armpits are tan, Smokers, Cheese lovers, Silly, Mimes, Gondolas, Serenading, black and white stripped shirts, thin mustaches (Basically Monty Python Holy Grail)

AFTER knowing people from France: Opinionated, Rude, Fine Wine and Alcohol selection, believe they know every thing, but really loving and caring for their family immediate family.

Haha I love that cliché of the French guy with a Marinière (the stripped t-shirt), a baguette and a beret. Also, we don't "believe we know everything", we actually know everything ^^

Arrogance, sexy accents and great food.

The cliche “dirty as a Frenchman” comes to mind. Don’t know if that is a hygiene thing or sexual. Other than that, not much besides the accent

France: insular, arrogant, love strikes/riots/protesting

Europe: Bureaucratic, insular, protectionist, corrupt

I have seen and heard Europeans be very judgemental of American culture, as if they think Americans are trash. I get the impression that Europeans think Americans are stupid and obsessed with guns/war...

I personally imagine Paris as a city that has cobblestone streets and smells of coffee and fresh baked bread with an accordion in the background playing something by Edith Piaf...
