Code at https://github.com/jaredjennings/dactyl-keyboard/commit/cd43dfd01e5847cc262664da073d67bb9cae5617. You will probably need to tweak it to match whatever holes you have at the back of your particular Dactyl Manuform fork.

OK, that code is not so great. As you can see below in the thread with u/vsadygv, it does not Just Work. I fixed it, in my tshort-plus-jared branch, and I built STLs, viewable and downloadable at https://github.com/jaredjennings/dactyl-keyboard/tree/tshort-plus-jared/things. There are STLs for the keyboard itself too. They have no side nubs in the switch holes, and so are suitable for Kailh switches. I removed the wire clips underneath, too. Other than that, they are straight tshort.

I don't know if I've said it anywhere else, but I took some bubble wrap mailers and cut them up and stuck them to the inside of the case, to prevent it from rubbing on my nice keycaps. You should too. Or maybe some felt.

oh thanks, that's another thing i haven't managed to share yet. there are plenty for the logitech m570 on thingiverse but none for the elecom ex-g. but it isn't quite right and the way i made it in freecad it's really hard to change.

was going to make one of these, now that I see this gonna use urs!

Hey i was wondering! any chance someone could offer a guide on how to generate the STL's for this. I can't seem to get it working

Broadly, make the changes indicated in the diff (I don't see a way to download the diff itself??), run the Clojure file, and expect a couple of extra scad files hole-left.scad and hole-right.scad. Run OpenSCAD on them, render (F6) and export STL (F7).

Upon a closer look, it appears the way I defined bounding-cube is insufficiently simple. I think my original idea was to make a rounded rectangular solid for each half, with the shape needed for the keyboard hollowed out of it. But then I realized that would waste a lot of plastic and space. Nevertheless a call to my rounded cube primitive (call-module "cube_c2_fillet" ...) remains on lines 747-752, and this patch does not add a definition for that. You can replace it with (cube bounding-cube-size), I believe.

see the problem I face is in trying to develop the scad models like I followed the directions for it on github but the "load file" doesn't work for me for some reason

ahh - if I understand you right, people often have this problem. you need parentheses around the whole thing like so

(load-file "src/dactyl_keyboard.dactyl.clj")

1
vsadygvdactyl manuform•

(load-file "src/dactyl_keyboard.dactyl.clj")

when i do this i get Execution error (FileNotFoundException) at java.io.FileInputStream/open0 (FileInputStream.java:-2). src/dactyl_keyboard.dactyl.clj (No such file or directory)

(load-file "src/dactyl_keyboard/dactyl.clj")

That worked!!! thank you!!!
