It's so you can't get your hand near the Auger feed. I took mine out

A hand guard I’m sure. Keep ur fingers away from the corkscrew thing

I took mine out. It was easier to scoop out pellets from the top when changing them out than using the hatch on the back of the hopper.

It’s a guard foe your fingers. There is a screw Auger under that. It will take a finger off!!!

That auger moves super crazy slow. You'd have to be trying to get your finger caught in it.

Just back out the screws on the higher part and it will come out. I removed mine as well.

I’ve heard it’s to prevent pellet tunneling. Do all models come with this? I won a fully assembled Pro 34 and it doesn’t have it.

They should but you don't need it. It just protects kids or really stupid people from getting their fingers in the auger
