It’s not what others think. It’s what you enjoy. Keep on keepin on.

“Is this where you wanna be when Jesus comes back?” Haha Life’s a garden man, dig it

Dont get it.. What's potentially wrong with this? Are r50's taboo or something? Looks well built out to me

Last time I posted here I got some parking lot princess Nissan hate because I took muddy pictures when I got home instead of in the mud.

Nicely done. Custom bumper or converted XJ one? Packed up in storage is some old parts from my old R50s. Probably some ARB springs in there too.

Coastal Offroad kit. I have arb springs in the front but Land Rover springs in the back with KYB all around

Nice! Didnt know Coastal is making kits for them. I gave my 99 to mother in law. Had 189k when I gave it to her. Its at like 300k now. Told her, change the Timing belt and kit every 100k. Change the oil and it will last forever.

nice r50, got one myself

OGShredditorOP•

Thanks man. What year is yours? I built mine all myself, had a blown motor when it came to me, slapped a new one in there in 3 days with my buddy and a bottle of whiskey and a janky ass cherry picker in my dirt driveway with hand tools lol

Mine is an 01. It’s got 139k, runs like a dream

It can do more than many!

The old VG33's love 5000km oil changes - do this and 500,000km is easily attainable

2
OGShredditorOP•

I do em myself every 3000 miles or less with Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer

Got a small oil drip, either upper oil pan gasket or rear main seal but it’s not enough to make any difference between usual service intervals

3000 miles is 4828.03 km

Carnegie?

2
OGShredditorOP•

Yes!

fourletterFwords•

I usually stop there on the way out to, or on the way home from frank Raines. I usually lose interest in Carnegie in about 45 mins, but it's a good place to test new setups.

Wheeling is wheeling. Have fun.

2
OGShredditorOP•

Yeah that’s pretty much all I was doing, and showing my girls little nieces what 4 wheeling is like.

They’re addicted now lol.

Make sure you carry a plug kit and a compressor with you out there. I've picked up countless nails out there.

Great looking rig! I feel like R50’s are under appreciated. Especially if you can get a late version of the Infinity.

2
OGShredditorOP•

I always thought so! Even though it’s IFS it has a 5 link rear, it’s slowly becoming the new jeep xj due to price point changes

2
mr_Shakirov•

Exactly, you. An find a clean one of the r50’s pretty damn cheap. Yeah it is a uni-body, but it is still capable.

Edit: you should find a honeycomb grille from a later version, can’t remember what year. But that will make it look even more aggressive.

I have been trying to convince my wife to get one to build up but no more garage space 😂

2
OGShredditorOP•

I’ve been wondering about a honeycomb, is it like a direct fit?

mr_Shakirov•

From what I believe it is, as it was mainly an aesthetic upgrade, so i think it should just bolt right up. Check out your local junkyard, i bet you can find one easy.
