As a rule, you should never make a 4 way intersection on a mainline. It is almost always safer to make two 3 way intersections next to eachother
Nah you need a turbo with segregated left/right/continue tracks
When I dealt with these occasionally I would sometimes destroy a piece of track and build temporary infrastructure, viaducts and tunnels especially, to get it moving again. Afterwards however it means thinking about a permanent solution.
But I got to admit that if I wouldn't have tightly-planned schedules (JGR) on my network, it could easily deadlock as well.
Happens to me a lot. But I also started playing this week.

I've been experimenting with roundabouts for a while now, thanks to this sub I improved my design to allow 8 trains inside running smoothly without deadlocks, I can share it with you if you want. As for the trains, order the ones far away from the intersections to back up and stop so they will make space for the ones closer until you're able to free one train in the junction, it will take time but at least you won't have to destroy your trains.
Ye, just copy other juction from openttdwiki. You really need a better one.
!And turn off breakdowns, it will throw you at new level of gameplay.!<
Get rid of the signals on the inner circle. They're not at a safe waiting position (meaning a train waiting there blocks other tracks)
You might have to let the trains crash in order to clear that up as well >;)
It's on a multiplayer server, and it's not my company, so let it bleed to death >:)
On the one hand, let the competition burn!
On the other, helping out other players is super wholesome.
