Question on the PS5 Beta

[Question]

Do you have to upgrade your account to do the Beta?

I have both the PS4 and the PS5 now, and don't want to switch right away because the 5 is currently not in the main part of the house. I do want to compare the content though. From what I've seen it seems once you go to the PS5 you can't go back to the PS4. I'm pretty sure I remember that being how the 3->4 went as well.

Has anyone heard for sure? If trying the Beta locks you to the 5 then I'll wait a bit to switch.

AFAIK, it's a separate license in the same way PS4 and PC are separate, but it's a free upgrade. Considering all these platforms are supported and you can cross play between PS4 and PC, idk why you wouldn't be able play both.

Betas sometimes work differently. But it's the PS5 Bets so maybe not. I play on tge PC when I travel, I just want to be stuck in the bedroom to play if it does transfer you to the 5 if you Beta.

Although I think I just bought the PS3 version again after I switched to the PS4 when our PS4 had issues and needed replaced. I could buy the PS4 version if it comes to that.

Yes, you can flip back and forth as you like. The PS5 version is the same license, it’s not like the PS3 version upgrade.

When is the ps5 version available? I can't seem to find I anywhere in the store? Will it come available later tonight you think?

They said it would be before maintenance ends, but didn't specify exactly when. So it will be before 3am unless something holds it back.

Honestly surprised it's not out now since the PS Blog said it would be available this evening for preload.

Pretty sure you can still play the ps4 version using remote play in another room.
