Thoughts on Broken runs and broken bosses
So with repentance they nerfed a lot of Items that broke the run because they were so op, which is ok in my opinion and im not crying about that.
But during a run I just had a thought came to my mind. I was on a fairly powerful run with eden, meaning that I could have beaten the chest without too much of a sweat. Then I got the chance to fight Delirium and I tried it and got my ass handed to me. I wouldnt say that Im really good or anything, but Im certainly not a noob either (I have over 400 hours in the game).
So to me it seems that bosses like Delirium were balanced around people having broken runs, because they themselfes are really broken. And while broken items have been nerfed, it seems like these bosses havent been.
I would like to hear your opinions on that matter, if you think that anything should be changed or if it should stay this way.

Delirium himself has always been a poorly designed boss (if cool in concept). A rework is planned for him in a later patch. I agree in that you need a broken run to beat him, probably why they give you so many extra boss item rooms.
What people need to realize with Repentance is broken builds still absolutely exist. They have moved away from having single powerful items and focus on the synergies, which is where broken builds lie now. Yeah, Brimstone on it's own isn't as strong, but get it with Ipecac? Boom, Brimstone now shoots explosions. The amount of synergies is absolutely insane.
Exactly, i killed the beast today in like 3 seconds with tech x and rubber cement. You can absolutely get some broken ass runs still, its just more rare and i think thats what ed wanted
tbf i feel like the beast is easy to kill almost regardless of build
i've seen the ghost attack only once with a decent to good build
I just started on pc on saturday so ive only killed him twice but he seems easier than i thought from watching on yourube
Absolutely. Yet they are less likely, because as you said, you need a good combo now, which just statistically isnt going to happen as often. So from my perspective beating delirium went from a thing that happened occasionally to a one in a thousand event, if that. And the devs have to decide if that is what they want and if they are happy with that.
