Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).
If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.
If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our feedback guide, or look through the comment sections of any other post here, or click the links to the author's feedback above. If you're not sure whether your comments are feedback, or you have any other questions, please send us a modmail.

She’ll kill you with her kindness,
yet she’ll always hide a gun.
One small suggestion for you to take or leave: change yet to and
As I said to low-tie, it is hard to do Sheela's story justice in anything short of a television miniseries. However, I'm glad that you took on this highly entertaining subject matter. I can imagine all these words cheered out by someone in pom poms. Like Sheela is a high school shooting guard in Missouri, and her plan to dope street folk is a second quarter lay up. "She's chaos! She's stife! She's deadly as a knife!"
Yes hahah I was writing this with a cheerleader chant in mind. Idk why. Sheela deserves more lol.
I liked this. I think it has good rhythm, and I like how you started each stanza with two lines of “She’s...” followed by a single word, then at the end of the stanza you develop it into a whole idea. I think the best part of this, is that I have no idea who Ma Anand Sheela is, but now I want to know lol
Honestly, this poem doesn't even to do her justice. (No offense, love. What poem could?) Sheela was part of moving one of India's most popular gurus to the United States in the 1980s to build an international capitol for their modern anti-traditional brand of religiousity and strangeness.
Imagine Siamese and I with a fleet of Bentleys and ten thousand intellectual followers in exclusively redish purple clothing. Now imagine us building a city in rural Oregon, buying up all the property in a county, then busing in "street people" to further consolidate our voting power.
What could go wrong?
Ah, okay, interesting. I’ll have to do more research, but I appreciate the overview
