My 1 year old cries bloody murder if I try to cut his nails...help!

Hi mamas! Just as the title says. My son cries bloody murder if I try cutting his nails. This has never been a problem before. He has let me cut his nails before awake and asleep but now its a battle. He looks like a freaking velociraptor! Mamas do yall have any advice or tips?
