I’m not having an affair
UPDATED: well my OP was 3 days ago. Now I learned that HE had created a tinder account ....ahhh yes, you cheat so you automatically you assume I am too....well I wasn’t and I’m not....but I did sign a client contract with an attorney and paid the retainer last night.
Original Post: I told him I want a divorce yet we are still living in the same house as I’ve not yet filed. And now he follows me around EVERYWHERE. If I take the dog for a walk, soon after he’s out riding his bike “just to get out” but it seems like he’s just following me. He tells me he’s going to work out yet comes back home within 10 minutes and when I ask why he is back so soon he says he “changed his mind.” He’s constantly looking over my shoulder at my phone. He’s literally following me from upstairs to downstairs and LITERALLY sitting RIGHT next to me 95% of the time despite me telling him I need space away from him. I work from home and now he gets home from work at unusual random times in the middle of the day. I have to hide out in the bathroom just to get away from him. He must think I’m having an affair....I’m not having an affair. Why is it so hard for him to believe I want a divorce because he’s treated me like crap and I’m finally done with his crap and that it’s not because of another man?
Edited to add: we live in a 50/50 no fault state. He was emotionally abusive most of our marriage, when we first started marriage counseling he wanted specifics as to why I was unhappy in the marriage so I gave him a lengthy letter with multiple examples of things he has said and done and lies he has been caught in. He knows he is an emotional abuser and he is going to therapy to try to change.....but it’s too little to late to salvage our marriage.
