Could Teflon and possibly Starship metal alloy save the barrel of a railgun?

What If?

The major issue seems to be heat and friction and I understand that the forces exerted are in a magnitude a layman can’t readily imagine, still. Atmospheric reentry after the conditions of the vacuum of space and it’s planned to go right back up. Teflon type substance can be adapted to the venetian atmosphere with it’s corrosives and extreme temperatures.

Apparently this was too much of a bother for r/askscience specific to the engineering section so it was worth it for someone to specifically remove it. I just don’t get Reddit after reading what makes the front page and trying to ask genuine questions to specific people.
