Does anything get done with Abuse reports?

Question

Also, does divisioning up with a friend and together taking two of the team's three destroyers and driving them into one corner of the map and spending the entire game doing nothing but spam the comms wheel count as 'harrassing others' or 'griefing'? I put it in as griefing, but I'm not sure what the definitions are.

Them being in a fail division of a Farragut and a Clemson that ended up in a tier V match is just the breaks of the game, but being the only DD against two enemy DDs (who ganged up on me, naturally) was disconcerting to say the least.

No not even a little

Mandatory disclaimer, their behavior was obviously wrong. Unfortunately, where are the rules they broke? WG has provided ZERO guidance as to what should be done and can't even be bothered with even basic instructions for anything instead relying on "contributors" to figure it out and interpret things. There is nothing OFFICIAL written down anywhere for gameplay that I can find so until WG makes an effort to define "abuse" there really isn't anything enforceable.

You'll never actually know because European privacy laws dictate that WG can't actually tell you about any issues or interactions with somebody else's account; whether they banned them or suspended them etc. I doubt anything happens unless they're repeatedly reported by several people though. Btw I think what you described counts as 'griefing'.

The report feature has no value you would need video or voice evidence to have any affect , It has always been a function just for players to vent and make themselves feel better.

I have privacy on just to annoy that type of player as they attempt to send a message and find they cannot :)... i always imagine them smashing their own property in rage induced moments.

Hello, so first of all, that behaviour was more than wrong and it falls under the "griefing" point.

Those reports get forwarded to the platforms (MS / Sony)

BUT

In any case there are any offenses, players that have proof (a video clip f.e. where the offense is being recorded) can send it to us or create a ticket and our CS (customer support) will punish those accordingly (game bans etc.)

That's helpful to know, thanks! I'll record anything like this I see in future. Since then it's been fine, fortunately: I think part of what had me steaming at this particular incident was just how out-of-the-ordinary it was.

Dude, the devs can’t do anything right lately and you expect a report feature to work? Lol....

But really, that would require paying someone to check these reports.... trust me when I tell you they will never do that.

OR they ban or suspended off of the number of reports... say 100 reports equals a suspension but that would be highly unfair as I’m sure I get reports for sinking people the way I do.

Ban a potential paying customer, not EVER going to happen. And if they did with no written rules, they would be facing potential litigation as there was an exchange of real money involved.

1

I doubt that, MS bans people all time who spent thousands of dollars. They even ban consoles, remember there is always something in the fine print agreement we all agree to that protects them.

Those are comms bans and bans based on actual physical evidence of wrong doing , the report feature is more a placeholder and would need several thousand complaints for them to even register it.

2

Several thousands of complaints come very quick in certain games, my friend happens to be very very good at rainbow six siege and has received a one week Xbox ban for “numerous” reports on his account.

Well first things first, every player agrees the EULA when entering the game for the first time. (https://legal.eu.wargaming.net/en/eula/)

And bans happen, not often but they happen.

Buddy you’re devoting way wayyyyy too much time and effort towards two people that got you tilted on an online game. Go outside.

I've spent all day outside, I'd like to actually enjoy some gaming time now I'm done working. These two poltroons spent ten minutes annoying me and nine other people, I think I can spare two minutes to report them, no?

Also, not your buddy, pal.

I get it. I would be mad too. But is it really worth it, spending all that time reporting them and then bringing it to Reddit? Chances are you’ll never see them in a game again.

Also, not your pal, friend.

Not sure whether the two of you did this intentionally or not. If so, bravo! If not, check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRfKdNxIOcQ
