Getting stinking drunk...
First of all, I want to thank all the people on r/lgbt. Since joining Reddit, I've allowed myself to be more open about my sexuality while talking to folks in r/lgbt. This openness is starting to transfer out into the real life and I'm starting to come out to the people close to me.
I've realized that I'm luckier then some of the people on this subreddit because my parents would never reject me because of my sexuality. Unfortunately, I don't even tell my dad about my day, so just telling him that I'm gay just feels like TMI and I can't get the words out.
That's where the 200 ml of Bacardi comes in.
Well, thanks again! And I'll let you know if downing alcohol is a good way to prepare yourself to coming out to your parents.
Update: Right before I was going to try to come out, my buddy came over and we went for a walk. I told him I was gay(he was cool with it) and how I was having trouble coming out to my dad. He basically told me to get the fuck over it and get it done. I think that's what gave me courage to finally come out, not the alcohol. Moral of the story: Try friends before you try alcohol
P.S. I was still drunk when I came out, anyway.
