Physics to Nursing. Who knew?

I think I want to be a nurse. This is surprising for some because I am one year away from earning a physics degree. However, for those who know the college job I hold, it isn't surprising in the least.

For the past three years I have been working as a personal care attendant for various people with disabilities. All are wheelchair bound. I'm 100% certain I can handle the nitty-gritty parts as I know how to catheterize female patients and how to trigger a bowel movement.

I don't know what kind of degree I should get. I've read around that a BSN is useful. Is this is best degree to go for? Also, I've looked around and it seems I can get an accelerated BSN in two years because I will already have a BA (for some reason, Berkeley thinks a physics degree is a Bachelors of Arts...)

I'm also wondering which schools are good for nursing. Which schools did you guys go to? Pros and cons? If you could go back and change what you did, what would it be?

TL;DR I'm a physics major who wants to do a 180 and pursue nursing. Advice would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I am also somewhat interested in becoming a nurse anesthetist. Are there any of you guys here?
