With all of the bad Customer Service we are used to seeing...I thought I would relate a good experience... (Verizon)
My phone was stolen several months ago. I went out and bought a new phone the next day. I figured the phone was a lost cause and I had it deactivated. I got a call from Verizon earlier this week and someone left a message saying the phone had been recovered and returned to them. I was too tired to call back...figured I'd call the next day. They beat me to it the next day and the same man called me and confirmed that it was mine and made arrangements to return it to me.
It showed up today on my front door, shipping free of charge, with a post it note in it that thanked me for my business.
Pretty cool, especially since I came from AT&T before and they were the worst.
tl;dr: Verizon sent me my stolen phone months later with a handwritten post it note thanking me for my biz.
