[Troubleshooting] I'm assuming I bought the wrong ram?

Alright, I bought this motherboard: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z68V_PROGEN3/#MSL

And these Ram (I can't find them on Corsairs own site): http://www.ramexperts.com/ddr3/corsair-cmp8gx3m2a1600c8-dominator-8gb-ddr3-1600-pc3-12800.html

I bought 2x of those ram, so a total of 16gb.

And when I put it together, I just get a black screen and a red light om my MEM-OK indicator. And it doesn't matter how many blocks I have in the motherboard.

So, if I need to buy some new ram, I basically have to cross reference the Qualified Vendors List to find ram that are compatible?

And what exactly do you look for in ram? Is mHz the biggest criteria? Eg. if I choose some 1866 mHz ram, what else should I be looking for ?
