Can we stop with the 4chan reddit beef. Especially pointing out what originated where, who deserves credit for what, and telling people to "this isn't 4chan"?

Because reddit, we are all part of the same family. Whether you like it or not. You don't get to pick your family. But how choose treat them is decided by you.

Okay so imagine a family seated around a dinner table. There are elders ; parents, grandparents. And a shitload of kids. Now the kids all have certain things in common with their siblings, but all stand out in some ways.

If you are part of a large family, you may have had one sibling who is a little....out there. Let's say for example, an older brother who is unparentable, inconsiderate and reckless, but hilarious at the same time. The kind of guy who will make an extremely vulgar/inappropriate joke at the dinner and laugh his ass off at his own joke, not giving a shit whether anyone else even finds it funny(E.g letting one rip at the dinner table, keeping a straight face, and start talking about the impotance of taking deep breaths). But most of the others do find it hilarious. They just avoid making eye contact with him and softly chuckly into their soup, waiting for a reaction from the parents. And they dare not laugh right there as that would encourage their brother's bad behaviour.

After dinner they go and tell their friends the joke or comment the brother had made, and everyone laughs their asses off about it.

To me that brother represents 4chan in this web family. Facebook can be the rich cousin who is too cool and too busy for us, making money off selling products to people.

So next time you accuse someone of regurgitating 4chan material, or saying something should be on 4chan and not reddit, remember that at the end of the day, you still eat at the same table. As unique as you may think you are, you can't help but be influenced by family. And much as part of reddit may hate 4chan, dinner would be dull without it.

Anyways that's my rant. Good day
