After almost 2 months of being hurt and lazy, I hit it hard..
I was training very regularly, using a combination of convict conditioning and plyometric sprints. Was feeling great, looking pretty damn good, and then busted up my hand being a jackass on a bicycle. I couldn't even do a pushup without it absolutely killing me, pain shooting up my arm, etc.
I was super lazy because of this, and worked out maybe 3 times in the past two months. Embarrassing, I know. There was no excuse to be completely out of commission for just one hand being hurt. I used it as an excuse.
The past week, I've been able to train like normal. I started with a few easy days to get back into it, but found that my strength levels were just about where I left them. Endurance suffered a bit, but I'm still able to push it hard. I've now got soreness all over like the first time I lifted a weight, and it feels damn good to be aware of my muscles again.
The moral of this story is that even if you're injured, you should still find a way to train. Even if you're sick, or weak.. get your ass up and train the best you can. Being lazy has zero reward, but being committed has so much to offer.
