Alright Reddit, time to dust off those throwaways (or not)! What is the one thing that kills you inside and rips your heart out every time you think about it?

I'll start. I've been away for college for 5 years now in another country. I go back to see my family once every 6 months or so. And not once in those 5 years has anyone of them told me they "missed me", not even my mother. We're not an emotionally expressive family, but this really gets to me every time i think about it!
