Skyrim and steam help

I recently bought skyrim for PC mostly because my internet has been really poor lately. I only have satellite ISP's where my computer is located so the choices are severely limited and overpriced.

The problem is I cannot connect to steam period. I can go to an internet cafe in town, but I doubt I can torrent a crack, so I was wondering if anyone could please point me to a private link to a working one as well as the recent patches thanks.
