Has anyone figured out how to move NPCs to different residences?

I remember reading somewhere that you can choose where NPCs reside with the 1.1 update, but I can't seem to figure out how. I would really like to evict the Guide ("Dustin") so he can stop blocking all of my damn chests. Thanks!
