Mises.org wants to kiss you without first brushing its teeth.
I just donated $50 via this form, but I must say I was reluctant. I will post the contents of the e-mail I sent to contact@mises.org and webmaster@mises.org.
My purpose for posting this here is to ask you to also write to those addresses and request that they clean up their donation page.
Content of the e-mail:
Hi. I just donated $50 via the donation page here:
https://mises.org/forms/25/Support-the-Ludwig-von-Mises-Institute-in-2012
I have some suggestions.
- Fix your SSL problem. Clicking on the lock icon yields a message that indicates the page is only partially encrypted. This does not help boost the confidence of the person using this page to donate.
- Clarify what the clicking the check box labeled "Please add my 2012 Mises Institute Membership". Does it add $50 on top of whatever amount I list above? Is an XOR situation? Does checking that box do something different than donating $50 (the same amount) in the drop down above it?
- Clean up your layout. This is the Mises Institute. I expect, and I want your web developers to expect, only the best.
Thank you for everything you do.
