What's wrong with my Website?

I'm starting a conservative news aggregate. Side note: I'm not really political. I just know a niche when I see one! I'm a full-time college student, and my goal is to learn a bit about running a small business, while maybe making some money on the side.

Anyway, the idea is to round-up the day's news and major talking points. Everything should be quick and easily consumed. So, that said, could you tell me what first strikes you as being off. What about the site isn't inviting? What doesn't make sense? Please ignore the speed, it has just started and may be slow.
