How long would it take to "travel" coast to coast if I were to simply levitate and wait?

Given I'm standing at the western-most point of the United States, and want to "arrive" at the eastern most point: If I were to detach from the immediate surface of the earth and levitate, how long would it take me and what path would I take as the earth rotates beneath me (omitting obstacles like trees, mountains and fundamentalists)?
