Dear r/pf, please take a look at my financial situation and give me advice/criticism on what else I can do.
Throwaway to keep things anonymous.
I think I'm pretty secure financially and pretty savvy when it comes to money. But, other than telling my wife how much money we have each month I've never discussed any of my investments with anyone. I'm looking for feedback on my diversification and whether I should consider changing my allocations or really any advice in general. My primary goal is to just accumulate a shitload of money. I'm 100% stocks except for the house, lending club loans, and cash savings.
I'm 31 years old, both myself and my wife work. No kids yet, although we'd like to have kids in the next 2 years. We'd both keep working. We live pretty cheaply and save about $6500/month.
$80k in brokerage account (Adding $2k/month, typically buy something once $5k-$10k builds up and I see something I think is a good buy)
- $18K - IWM (Russel 2000 ETF)
- $21K - SPY (S&P 500 ETF)
- $11K - SDY (Aristocrats Dividend Index ETF)
- $22K - DIA (Dow Jones ETF)
- $8K - XLF (SPDR Financials Sector ETF)
$62k in my 401k (Max contribution split evenly between funds listed)
- $20k in S&P 500 Fund
- $20k in EAFE Index Fund
- $22k in Dow Jones US Completion Total Stock Market Index Fund
$17k in my Roth IRA (Max contribution split 25%, 25%, and 50%)
- $5.5k in USNQX (Nasdaq-100 Index Fund)
- $4.5k in UVALX (Value fund)
- $7k IN USEMX (Emerging Markets Fund)
- (Only other options are Treasuries, Bond Fund, or target date funds)
$51k in wife's 401k (Max contribution split evenly between funds listed)
- $22k in S&P 500 Fund
- $13k in EAFE Index Fund
- $16k in Dow Jones US Completion Total Stock Market Index Fund
- (Only other options are Treasuries, Bond Fund, or target date funds)
$18k in wife's Roth IRA (Max contribution, new purchase every time $3k builds up)
- All in BRK.B (Berkshire Hathaway)
$13k in Lending Club ($500/month)
- Invested in a mix of notes with a weighted average return of 11%, seeing a real return of 8.68% after defaults for the past 2 years I've been adding money to this account.
$80k in equity for the house (bought this year so I'm comfortable on the valuation).
- $161k left on the 30 year mortgage @ 4.75%
- Extra $1k principle payment each month
$13k in a cash savings account (emergency fund)
- .35% APY
- This would cover expenses for at least 6 months, I'd dip into my brokerage account if I needed more
Cars are both paid off, no credit card debt (about $40k of available credit), and no other debt. I think I'm going to buy a new car next year though. Any feedback is appreciated, I've never been to a financial planner although my bank keeps trying to get me to sign up for their financial planning/management services.
tl;dr I'm saving a lot of money and want your criticism on how I have it set up.
