First time owner, need advice.

I've read quite a bit on the breed (Siberian Husky) as well as puppies in general. I just want to make sure I'm fully prepared. So I wanted to get some opinions on:

  • When I should pick the puppy up from the breeder. I can get it at 6 weeks, or leave it until it is 8 weeks.
  • I want to make a trip to the pet store to pick up anything I might need, what are some essentials?
  • My brother lives with me and has 2 medium sized fully grown dogs. They have had their shots, but should I allow them near the puppy while it is this small?
  • I've read to take the puppy out every 2 hours or so or use the formula age in months + 1 = hours they can go between breaks - will they usually go or are there tricks to this? I figure the less carpet I have to clean, the better.
  • Most importantly, what are age specific trainings that I should try to get into habit early? What are bad behaviors to watch out for?

Sorry, I'm a newb, but I love this little guy and I want to be prepared.
