Aiming to gain muscle mass; is cardio a must?

Warning: dumb question ahead.

Currently I weigh about 147 lbs at 5'11''. I've been following a 5/3/1 routine for the past few weeks now, coupled with a 2500-3000 calorie diet and whey protein supplement. Up until now, I have been doing absolutely 0 cardio (unless you count pushups/situps) because I didn't think it was relevant.

My question is: would it be beneficial to do cardio before my workout? Keep in mind that I have a low appetite, so I am trying to get the best out of my calorie intake. From my POV, cardio could potentially burn the calories I need to gain muscle. However, someone suggested a few mins of cardio before each workout helps the blood flow and will end up increasing your gains.

So fittit, what's the answer? If I already have a low BFP, is cardio really necessary? Thanks in advance.
