Lots of crazy roommates stories here recently. I'm sure there are plenty more, let's hear 'em!

Last year, my best friend/roommate transferred schools mid-year due to a couple of different reasons. We put up ads to find a roommate to sub-lease from her. We met a girl, we'll call her Lisa, who was really interested in the place we lived. She thought it had "character" (read: it was a shithole.) She was kind of weird... A grad student music major who played the cello. She moved in and pretty much everything was gravy for the first month or so, and then things got a little weird.

The weirdest thing I ever experienced with her, though, was one morning I woke up to go to class at 8 am. I walked into the living room, and she was asleep on the living room floor... Whatever. I checked to make sure she was breathing, at least. So then I went to class, and came back around 9:30. As soon as I opened the stair door to our floor, I could hear the music. (She was a grad student who was a music major, she played the cello. She brought this super badass record player with her and used to play all sorts of crazy music.) It was some nutso symphony. I walked into the apartment, to find her standing in the corner of our living room with a lit joint in her right hand, a beer in her left hand and SWAYING to the record player she was standing in front of. The music was deafening. Did I mention the fact that it was 9:30 in the morning...? On a Tuesday? She tells me that she got super wasted the night before, came home to play this record. She rolled herself a joint, and got a beer, and before she could play the music when she came in, she passed out on the floor.

Among other strange things she did:

  • filled her nalgene with wine and took it to class
  • used filtered water in the coffee maker, despite the fact that the coffee maker had a water filter in it
  • made "high food" and left it in pots/pans all over the apartment (the worst was rice with relish and mustard)
  • had records playing, the radio on, and music playing on her computer simultaneously
  • super-creepily stalked a guy she had barely spoken to... went to his concerts, hung out in buildings she knew he was going to be in, etc.
  • barely ever bathed
  • played super high pitches from her computer to drive our (asshole) neighbor's dog crazy

Who else has lived with crazy?
