Update to Rules!

PSA

Hey r/Twitch,

We just wanted to post regarding a recent change to the rules for this subreddit. Effective immediately, Twitch clips will no longer be permitted to be shared as a post submission.

The idea of allowing users to share their favorite moments from a stream (Twitch clips) seemed like a good idea, but the truth of the matter is between 0 - 1% of clip submissions aren’t self-promotion or posted from a throwaway account. This makes moderation for clips extremely tedious and time consuming.

With that said, clips can still be shared in our clips contests & the Stream recommendations community event threads.

We’ve removed “Clip Guidelines” from the rules. To report violations, please report under Submission Guidelines, specifically rule 4I. All clip posts that are currently up, before this post, will remain up.

We've also enabled image and video sharing. These have been disabled for a while now, but we're enabling them hoping that they bring new conversations to the community!

Submissions of these types must follow the subreddit rules. We don't have a specific flair for them now, so if you are unsure "discussion" will work for now. This is a test period for these features and we will decide in the near future if they will remain enabled. If kept, we will add a new flair.

Thank you for reading & have a great Friday!
