Lego Bookshelf (help)

I'd like to make a working bookshelf out of legos. It will the kind that leans up against a wall and just have shelves sticking out.

My question is how possible is this? Where should I get blocks? How much would it cost?

Honestly, I have so little clue on how to start, I dont even know what questions to ask. Any insight would be greatly appreciated (sorry if it's in the wrong subreddit)
