Would like to self-learn web development, any advice please?
I posted this as a comment on another submission but thought I might better my chances by making my own submission.
I'm curious about learning web development. I "dabbled" with it when I was young, and was pretty passionate about it, but that was just HTML/CSS and basically re-using phpbb code as a database, and just kind of putzing around already available code.
After high school I went to a tech school for a few semesters for "programming" and picked up general programming logic and visual basic. Right around then I decided I was more interested in "web development" and started registering for more web-orientated classes. Life ended up throwing me a curve ball and I dropped out and started working in a factory.
This winter/spring semester I'm going back to school part-time (I bullshitted admissions into transferring most of my credits into the program I was interested in), however I'm located in very small remote farm town, (I need to keep my job/work fulltime) and don't think the area school is going to offer me exactly what I'm looking for. Any suggestion and direction on what I should know, and what I can do to learn/teach myself alongside with the education?
