Who should take/wear contraception Girl or Guy?

So me and my boyfriend are having a debate on who should have/take the contraception within the relationship. He said "I hope you take contraception." Implying that a girl has to take the precautions and not the guy. I said to him that it takes two people to have sex therefore if he wants contraception then he should wear it not imply that i should take just because he doesn't want to wear a condom!
